Environment and objectives #
A ZFS-based enterprise storage solution was planned and implemented for an engineering consultancy in Weimar. Resilience and the use of snapshots were central requirements.
My contribution #
I planned the storage solution and implemented it using ZFS, combining storage provision with snapshots that capture data at specific points in time.
Technical context #
Resilience and snapshots address different requirements: redundancy supports availability, while snapshots provide access to earlier data states. Snapshots within the same storage system do not replace an independent backup.
