The project involved a ZFS-based multi-site data replication solution, enabling datasets to be transferred beyond a single site and held at another location.
My contribution #
I was responsible for planning, technical implementation and operation, supporting the solution from its initial design through deployment to ongoing administration.
Technical context #
Multi-site replication provides a foundation for keeping data available outside the primary storage location. The recovery points available depend on the replication method and retention policy. Replication alone is therefore not equivalent to independent, versioned backup.
